Robert has been engaged both in corporate law and in private practice. He focuses his practice on protecting intellectual property for corporations with an emphasis on the mechanical arts including machine design and power generation. Robert has experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications, negotiating and drafting commercial contracts including license and joint development agreements, and providing for compliance with government contracts both as a Prime Contractor and as a Subcontractor. He also has experience in handling compliance with government import/export regulations including International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). His practice has included representation of clients in patent litigation matters including assertion of intellectual property rights and defense of infringement allegations. Robert also has public service experience having served as a member of the Town Council in Windsor and as the chairman of the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission in Windsor.

Prior to receiving his law degree, Robert worked for Pratt & Whitney in a number of engineering roles including as an ISO 9000 management representative for the Overhaul & Repair Organization. Robert has practiced law with the litigation group of Day, Berry & Howard, and with the intellectual property group of Cummings & Lockwood. He also has served as General Counsel, IP Counsel, and Corporate Secretary for a combustion engineering research and development corporation.
