It was with great sorrow that the MKG, LLC (formerly Michaud-Kinney Group, LLP) announced the loss of our friend, colleague and founding member, Richard R. Michaud.  Rick passed suddenly on Sunday, March 4, 2012, after returning home from a business trip abroad.

Rick will be remembered for his strong work ethic, dedication to his loving family, generosity, spirit, easy laugh and instant ability to turn any acquaintance into a lifelong friend.  While we are saddened by his passing, we proudly celebrate Rick’s accomplishments and are privileged to carry on Rick’s work ethic and values in our continued practice of intellectual property law by fulfilling the ideals Rick established at our firm.

Prior to entering legal practice, Rick was a senior design engineer at Dorr Oliver, Incorporated, where he designed and developed industrial centrifuges and process equipment.  Rick was a popular lecturer on intellectual property topics.  In addition, he was well-versed at counseling business executives and in-house counsel at both large and small corporations.  Through his years of practice, he developed a diverse international clientele.
